In the pixel remaster, the enemy sequence seems to be truly random. Making the party members into Imps may also affect the enemy encounters. In earlier versions, depending on which character is the leader/is in the first party slot, Mag Roader (Red) may or may not appear. The mine cart escape has five battles before the boss. In the GBA and 2014 versions, it can be found in the Soul Shrine, but in SNES, PS, and pixel remaster, this enemy only appears in the escape of the research facility. Mag Roader (Red) is a Rage that can easily be missed. There are two enemies that can be found during the mine cart ride: Mag Roader (Purple) and Mag Roader (Red). After the area is damaged in the fighting between the party and Kefka, Cid leads the party down a lift to a mine cart loading dock where they board a cart and escape, riding on the rails near the entrance to the facility in Vector. Out of the garbage chute, a long staircase leads up to the Research Labs, where the majority of espers being held are located. The Returners climb up to the main lab where six espers are held captive. Kefka attempts to convince the Returners of Celes's betrayal. With the last of their strength, they transform themselves into magicite and beg the party to save the rest of the espers within the facility. ![]() The two espers, revealed to be Ifrit and Shiva, come to their senses once sensing Ramuh's presence and cease attacking the party. The group follows the two espers into the garbage chute, however, when attempting to contact the creatures, they strike the party. The Returners infiltrate the facility with the help of a Returner member stationed in Vector, and try and find the captive espers used to power the Gestahlian Empire's Magitek weapons.ĭeeper inside the facility, the Returners find Kefka torturing two espers before throwing them into a garbage chute, laughing at the power he has gained from them, as well as hinting at his plans to restore the Warring Triad using the espers' magic.
